AI ENGINEER · FULL-STACK · 10+ YEARS

I help teams and founders put AI into production.

I'm Tiago Martins Peres, an AI engineer in Peniche, Portugal. Some teams know what they want built and need someone to build it. Some have AI somewhere in the plan and no idea where it fits. Some are holding back because nobody has said what happens when it gets something wrong. I work on all of those, and on the ones that fit none of them. Mostly RAG, agents and LLM features.

You don't need a spec to write to me.

A system you want AI inside, a risk you want weighed, a plan you're unsure of, or an idea nobody has built yet. If I can help, I'll say so, and exactly how.

When the AI Has to Film Its Own Review

    DelegationJudgmentAI

When a pull request is raised, mine or one I have to review, I now ask the agent to run it on my machine, try to break it and film itself doing it. A paragraph can claim a test happened. A recording has to show it, and deciding what it means is still my job.

Jev Answers in Probabilities. The Question Is Still Yours.

    MachinesRecourseAI

TypeSafe's Jev will not write a sentence. You hand it a state and typed questions, and it hands back a choice, a score or a yes/no probability, at four thousandths of a cent for a decision over a thousand tokens. The novelty is the shape, which puts authority back in your code, and the trap is that a probability looks like recourse and is not. I ran the pilot I would want before believing any number, on my own essays with the open model that stood in for Jev, and the answer was no.

Where Will the Next Seniors Come From?

    EngineeringThe personAI

AI is eating the exact work junior developers used to learn on, entry-level hiring is collapsing measurably, and every senior who can vet a machine's output was once a junior somebody paid to be wrong. On DHH hiring for 'how far could they go', the 2,200 people who applied, and why an industry that stops making seniors has misunderstood its own supply chain.

    The Sorrow at the Good

    CultureThe personFaith

We live better than most kings who ever reigned, and the mood of the age is a low-grade sadness nobody can name. A fourth-century desert monk named it. An economist explained its mechanism in 1971. This is an essay about acedia (the sorrow that arrives precisely when the good does) and why an age of infinite abundance was always going to be its golden hour.

Questions, answered

The ones anyone asks. Questions about a particular piece of work are answered on its page.

See the four services
  • How do we get started?

Send a note below. I reply within one business day and we take a free 30-minute call. If the scope is clear, I send back a short plan with timeline and price. If it is still moving, the paid scoping call on any service page settles it, and comes off the project. No obligation either way.

  • How do you charge?

Fixed price for well-scoped projects, or a weekly rate for ongoing work. I'll recommend whichever fits, and you'll always know the number before anything starts.

  • Are you available right now?

I take on a small number of builds at a time so each one gets real focus. Reach out and I'll tell you when I can start.

  • Do you work remotely, across timezones?

Yes. I'm based in Peniche, Portugal, and work fully remote with clients anywhere in the world, whatever their timezone.

  • Can you sign an NDA?

Of course. Most of my work is under NDA, so I'm happy to sign yours before we get into specifics.

  • What if my project is already half-built or stalled?

That's a big part of what I do. I'll review what's there, tell you what's salvageable, and get it moving to production.

Let's talk

Tell me what you have, and what you need it to do.

You don't need to know which service it is, or whether AI is the right answer. If I can help, I'll say how, and what it would cost.

I read every message myself and reply within one business day. No sales pitch, just a straight conversation about your build.

  • Free 30-min intro call
  • NDA-friendly
  • Prototype to production

A few lines about the problem you want to crack. Even rough is fine.
